My favorite poem in second chapter was written by Izumi Shikibu. In the burning fire of my love It seems the firefly of the river In my own soul Leaping up in longing She send this poem to Yasumasa. He was the member of government so he has some wives. He was very busy to his work and visiting to other wives, he rarely came to see Izumi Shikibu. To feel sadness, she describe her strong affection to Yasumasa.  Firefly is symbols of fragile so I think, she felt anxious about own love became broken. From this semester, I took the JSP class on Thursday 2nd period. In this class, I have to read a book about history,culture and art of Kyoto. And then, discuss the contents of the chapter. So I chose this book as my extensive Reading.  Chapter one is about Heian period. In this era, people started to start using Kana, and build up court house in Shinsen style. Like them, there were a lot of changes in people in Heian era life. Do you know why there was an explosion of excellent writers in Heian period? The main reason is To attracts the opposite sex. In this period, men send poem to the woman who they feel affection. And if woman like it they could dating. And also, if man got the court  woman, it means the man’s promotion. In those reason, a lot of masterpieces was made. Next week, I’ll tell my favorite poem in this book.  Thank you for reading！

Unfortunately, a next crime happened at the midnight, the time which Wilcox, Captain Griswold, Flower, Porcini, Hot Dog and Miss Rabbit were all sleeping. However, this time they took the video with security monitor! The next morning, they checked the video. And they found unbelievable scene! The criminal was… Miss Rabbit!!! She ate her carrot cake unconsciously. Everyone couldn’t hide their surprise of course, Miss Rabbit couldn’t hide her shock.   Anyway, the case of missing carrot cake was cleared way. At the end of this story, they had a party with Miss Rabbit’s carrot cake. 🍰 The picture of this book was so delicious. ✨ Special Topics   Write an alternative ending I think, to change the criminal of this case, we can enjoy another ending. Wilcox and Captain Griswold investigated and questioned all animals but they couldn’t get strong tips 🐭🐭 . While they wandered about this case, second rubber was happened! Miss Rabbit report to them again 🐰 . Same as the first time, all the scene was frosting all over the floor and her clothes but, she didn’t see anyone. They were at a loss…..     So, they decided to set a security camera 📷 and monitor. Miss Rabbit made another Carrot Cake 🍰 and direct the same situation. They stared the screen many hours, day and night, night and day. Flower, Porcini, and Hot Dog too, they want to know the thief’s identity However, nothing was happened…. Thank you for your reading!

Suspect2 was Porcini (pig having big appetite). 🐷 The reason why Wilcox and Captain Griswold made him place on a watch list of thieves was his appetite. Porcini is always eating in coarse way and thinking about foods all the time. Crime scene was litter with carrot cake’s ingredient. However, At the time theft happened, he was in market to get tasty food. Also, she had a receipt. Her innocence was completely clear. Suspect3 was Hot Dog(mischievous god) 🐶 They caught up an important piece of evidence. That was a carrot matched the ones they hound in Miss Rabbit’s house. They were certain that Hot Dog is a thief! In his house, there were all ingredient for the cake like eggs, flower and of course carrot. His claim was this: he went to Miss Rabbit’s house to see if she needed help setting up for her party in the morning. However, at that time, robbery was already done! He was upset on that situation and run away. And, he decided to make another one. That’s why he had all ...

The last book I read in reading class at Concordia University is “The Case of the Missing Carrot Cake” written by Robin Newman. Actually, this book is very easy. I wonder it is for elementary school students. But that why I choose this book for my daily leading. I felt stress in America because people spoke to me fast, and vocabularies in lesson was very difficult. This book recalled me that studying English is fun 📚 ! This is a story about 2 police mice’s, Wilcox and Captain Griswold 🐭🐭 , in Ed’s farm. When Miss Rabbit’s carrot cake goes missing 🐰🍰 , they do what it takes to track down the thieves.   Flower(female owl) was placed on a watch list of thieves. Her answer to the question about her alibi was funny! At the time theft happened, she was chasing a field mouse. She said, this mouse has her alibi but she ate it!!! The last place I recommend you is Multnomah Falls. According to this book, this is the highest fall in Oregon state. This water fall has two tiers. The top tier’s full 165 meters tall and the second tier’s full 21 meters. Awe-inspiring cascade of icy water let you experience the power and beauty of nature. Also, facilities are also perfect for tourist. A gift shop has plenty of postcards and good souvenirs. A restaurant serves visitors Portland’s special product like salmon, coffee, beer and beef. From the window at the restaurant, we can also enjoy special view without any prevents. Also, there is information center.          When I been there, I was very impressed! The whole view looking up from ground was amazing! I can’t forget the sound of falling water, smell of this place and an air of mystery. We can visit Multnomah Falls easily by using shuttle bus. Next place which attracted me is “Rose Garden” 🌹🌹🌹 this is one of the National Garden. First time I saw a picture of this park in this book, I felt very excitement and was seized with an impulse to go to Rose Garden! According to this book, this park is over 64 hectares and there In the such a wide garden, tens of thousand of roses are planted. 722 different kind of roses are in full bloom in May to July. This garden is not only the National Garden, but also the International Rose Test Garden. So Many botanical specialists visit here and try to make new species.   When I visited there, roses were not in seasons but it was enough for me! All roses were brilliant and graceful and fragrant. ✨ 　 This place is my favorite in Portland! If you visit Portland, you have to go. I strongly recommend ☺ Thank you for your reading ！

Next book is The City of Portland. Maybe you already know, I went to Portland in this summer vocation. And to make weekend’s plans, teacher recommend this book to me. This is a kind of guide book but there are not so many pictures. Through reading this book, I found interesting place and imagined “how it is?” Also, I was able to know Portland’s culture and history a little bit. Let me introduce the place I visited which I choose from this place. BLUE ★ STER This is the most famous donut shop in Portland. Because, this shop is only in Portland!! In this shop, there are so many interesting, unusual, so sweet and so tasty flavors. This shop start in 2012. The history of this shop is not deep but famous national daily papers “USA Today” or ”New York Post” says BLUE ★ STER is place in the top 10 donut shop in US! I tried Passion and Black Pepper. I found another important thing through reading this book (the first one is mother’s affection to their child). In the back cover says genre of this book is “ghost story”. It sounds frightening or cruel. However, Girl at the Window is full of love. We shouldn’t judge a book by its cover or genre ❕ . Because, every book has some good moral and it will help us to keep motivation, give us some tips to read more wonderful life, give us a supportive push also, they wise up important things for us. Through reading this book, I had one feedback focusing on mother’s love. ❤ Grace lavishes affection on Mary even after her death and Sue lavishes affection on her baby too. From their love to own child, I found it will never change and it’s never easy influenced by the continuous improvement of IT. This fact is applied to us well. All of us grew up with own mother’s affection. Even we can’t meet her so often or she already dead. I think, nobody can’t be born without mother’s love and blessing. In my case, my mother rarely hug and kiss me now because I’m already 20 years old. 😘 However, she pays attention to my health every day and call or send messages to me almost every day. Also, she hopes my dream come true and anticipates my future. I think, those are also kind of mother’s love. 👩💛 please think about your mothers affection. What do you think about it? First one is “The Girls at the Window” . This is a ghost story about one house. Two different timelines are running in this story (past and Now). Grace is a past resident and Sue is a new resident(that is why the title is "Girls"). Both of them can’t live with their husband because Grace’s husband was a soldier, and Sue is a newly divorced person. About their baby, they are in completely different situation. 👶 Grace never allowed to stay with her baby, Mary. She was taken by her relative because they thought Mary’s father, Tommy will be dead and never come back. Contrary to Grace, Sue always stays with her baby. From their situation, we can see that Grace has a big sorrow. After her death, this cruel sorrow changed Grace to ghost and got into the house. 👻 Thank you for your reading!
